Don't Cry For Me Argentina South Dakota - Tom Daschle's Plight

In a New York Times article written by Sheryl Gay Stolberg and Carl Hulse entitled Daschle Reflects On Past And Looks Ahead they wrote the following about Daschle's current plight:

At the end of this week, he will move out of his elegant chandeliered suite on the second floor of the Capitol, leaving behind the trappings of power - his fabulous view of the Washington monument, his phalanx of aides, the Gilbert Stuart portrait of George Washington on his office wall - for a new, and as yet undefined life in the private sector.

Tom Daschle will now retire to his $1.9 million dollar Foxhall Road mansion in Washington, D.C., where his lobbyist wife will continue to use what remains of his political capital to keep him in the style to which he has become accustomed. No one believes he will return to his $75,000 2-bedroom home in Aberdeen, SD, do they? (Will Daschle still apply for the owner-occupied tax credit in both South Dakota and Washington, D.C., now that he no longer represents South Dakota in the senate?)

Don't cry for Tom Daschle South Dakota.
