Harry Reid Can Walk On Water Too!
Harry Reid appeared on MSNBC's 'Ed Show' on October 21, 2010, and said this:
“People have been hurting. And it doesn’t give them comfort or solace for me to tell them, you know, but for me, we’d be in a worldwide depression.”
What Harry is forgetting is that the world is in trouble because of Harry and his liberal friends have spent the United States (and most other countries in the world) to the brink of bankruptcy.
Workers are rioting in streets, most notably in France and Greece. Other more civilized countries are suffering less violently.
Unemployment is 'officially' at 9.6% in the United States but the 'effective' unemployment rate is really closer to 20.0%. Harry's own state of Nevada has the highest unemployment rate in the entire United States at nearly 15.0%.
In the United States, the liberal housing policies championed by Harry and his liberal friends allowed every Tom, Dick and Juan to buy houses with no down payment, no credit and no hope of ever making the mortgage payments. The marketplace has been flooded with foreclosures and bank owned homes have driven down home values far below replacement costs. Foreclosures are projected to be about 2.8 million in 2010 and 3.3 million in 2011. Harry's own state of Nevada is leading the entire United States in foreclosures.
Banking reform championed by Harry and the Democrats has forced banks to keep more capital on hand, which in turn has limited lending to small business.
The automotive bailout approved by Harry and his progressive buddies in the Congress closed over 2,000 automobile dealerships nationwide, putting tens of thousands of workers on the unemployment roles and left millions of square feet of commercial real estate vacant.
Even if you can walk on water Harry, please don't do us any more favors.

The NAACP Has Lost Its Way
For many years, there has been a problem with the extremely high dropout rate of African-American students. In an effort to fix this problem, Minneapolis School District Superintendent Bernadeia Johnson has recommended that a failing high school, North High School, be closed and the students moved to better schools.
Corey Mitchell of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported on October 13, 2010,
The Minneapolis branch of the NAACP on Wednesday urged parents to consider pulling their children out of the Minneapolis School District in response to Superintendent Bernadeia Johnson's recommendation to close North High School.
Makes perfect sense to me...someone wants to make send my child to a better school and I pull them out of school to protest. I know of many parents who scrimp and save to send their children to better schools. Parents have been known to lie about where they live to send their children to a better school in a different district. Has the NAACP really thought this through? It doesn't seem that they are really looking out for the children.
