I'm Exhausted

Thanksgiving is over and I'm officially exhausted.

We are in Utah where we had 13 for dinner on Thursday and we had a repeat performance of dinner on Friday for 10. We cooked a 20 pound turkey with all the traditional side dishes each day.

Pictionary was the game of choice Thursday and I was able to stay awake for a couple of games of that. I have no idea what everyone decided to do Friday night. I went to bed.

We had a great Thanksgiving! I hope you and yours had a great Thanksgiving, too!

Anarchy In Ferguson, Missouri

The governor of Missouri, Jay Nixon, called up the national guard and declared a state of emergency in Ferguson, Missouri. Unfortunately, the national guard rolled into Ferguson this morning, the morning after rioters in the area vandalized untold businesses, burned at least 12 buildings and countless automobiles racking up millions of dollars in property damage

Arsonists put countless lives at risk and destroy the dreams of the victims. They should be arrested or shot on sight.

If the police and national guard aren't going to protect the local citizens and their property, they should just quit. Why waste our tax dollars on them.

Joe Scarborough...On Race...Really?

This morning while discussing the problems in Ferguson, Missouri, with co-host Mika Brzezinski, Joe Scarborough compared the problems with the Trayvon Martin case.

Amazingly Scarborough said: "It’s not like Trayvon, where you had a guy chase a guy around a neighborhood and shoot him because..he was black."

Scarbouough seems to have rewritten the facts of that case, forgetting that George Zimmerman was getting the snot beat out of him by Trayvon Martin when he shot Martin.

Scarborough would have us believe that If Martin were white he wouldn't have been shot by Zimmerman.

Really Joe???

In anticipation of the speech HRH Obama is giving in a few hours, let me be the first to say to our illegal immigrants:

Stupidity In Action

Jonathan Gruber, one of the masterminds of the Massachusetts socialized medical insurance plan implemented while Mitt Romney was governor, was everyone's go to advisor during the planning of the Affordable Care Act nationally. Receiving millions of dollars from the federal and state governments for his expertise, Gruber was lauded in speeches by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Senate majority leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and HRH Obama.

Gruber, while consulting with HRH, felt that the only was to get the ACA passed was to prey on the 'stupidity' of the American people. The plan was to make the bill so large and convoluted that even the Congressional Budget Office couldn't figure out how to score it financially.

Recently, however, Gruber has been running around giving speeches during which he laughs about how they were relying on the stupidity of the American people to get the ACA enacted. During these speeches he has also been pointing out that the health insurance act in Massachusetts was unsustainable by itself and had been subsidized by the federal government to the tune of over $400 million dollars.

The amazing part of the whole thing is that the real stupid people in the ACA debacle were the lawmakers who voted to pass the bill which was designed to take over about 18% of the entire nation's economy. Famously, even Speaker Pelosi was mystified by the bill and said that the bill had to be passed so that we could find out what was in it. That from the one of the top lawmakers in the land. How is that for stupid?

Truth be told, you don’t have to be a professor at MIT to see that giving insurance to 40 million people who have to pay little or nothing for it will put an additional strain on the entire health care system. The numbers didn't add up in Massachusetts and they won't add up nationally. The name should be changed to the Unaffordable Care Act.
