On Net Neutrality

I don’t believe that I understand everything that is being discussed with regard to net neutrality, but there are a couple of old adages that can usually be relied upon in cases like this:

1) If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

2) Leave well enough alone.

3) Always keep in mind the law of unintended consequences and make sure that any government intervention via new laws or regulations is needed and that the consequences of such governmental intervention have been fully considered.

To allow the FCC, directed by five unelected commissioners, to institute sweeping new regulations on the internet without any congressional hearings and/or input seems heavy-handed and un-American.
