Secret Service Director Resigns
After seeing a plat map of the area where former President Donald Trump was holding a rally on July 13, 2024, I posted a short note on Truth Social:
Head of Secret Service, who qualified for the job by checking the appropriate DEI boxes, should resign immediately if not sooner. Never cede the high ground. Someone should have been on the AGR building.
It doesn't take a military genius to understand that the roof of the AGR building was close enough to the rally to take a rifle shot at President Trump. The lowliest agent with a pistol posted on the roof would have been plenty to deter any attempt to kill President Trump from there.
It was a day or two later that we learned the Secret Service had determined the building to be of some importance, but had posted one or more agents inside the building instead of on top of the building. I get it. The Secret Service agent(s) had forgotten their sunscreen and were afraid of getting a sunburn if they had been posted on the roof.
Today we learned that Kimberly Cheatle, the Director of the Secret Service, resigned. She can now back to protecting Doritos, which is where she belongs. (Cheatle was senior director of global security at Persico for three years prior to being named Director of the Secret Service on September 17, 2022.)
The agent who posted the agents inside the AGR building and the agent(s) who allowed themselves to be posted inside the building should also resign.
