You may have heard that there was a group of ten Baptist missionaries who were trying to take 33 children from earthquake ravaged Haiti to an orphanage in the neighboring country of the Dominican Republic. Mind you this was not for their own personal gain and was not meant to harm the children, yet the idiots in charge in Haiti have arrested and charged the group with kidnapping and criminal association.

The children are safe and no harm was done to anyone. The Haitians could have politely asked the missionaries, who may or may not have made an error in judgment, to leave the country if they were unhappy about the children being taken on a bus toward the Dominican Republic.

We are pouring billions of dollars of aid into that God-forsaken country and they treat Christian missionaries this way? Charging them criminally when Haiti has so many problems is the real crime here.

Americans should be outraged and should demand that the charges be dropped.

All aid workers should immediately leave Haiti and no one should donate another dime until this travesty of justice is stopped.

An arm of the Federal Reserve, then led by now-Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, told bailed-out insurance giant AIG to withhold key details from the public about overpayments that put billions of extra tax dollars in the coffers of major Wall Street firms, most notably Goldman Sachs.

Geithner was confirmed as Treasury Secretary even though he admitted to 'mistakes' made when he filed his taxes. That was small potatoes compared to this. If ever there was someone who need to be fired immediately, Tim Geithner is the guy.

How many people is Obama going to hire who are not stupid (Janet Napolitano), communist (Van Jones), or corrupt (Timothy Geithner)?

As a post-script, it was just reported on Fox News that spy satellites have been diverted from tracking terrorists to tracking icebergs with the full support of CIA chief Leon Paneta . As I have said before, President Barack Hussein Obama and his administration does not, except for the occasional lip-service) care about our security and is going to get a lot of Americans killed because of his pathetic policies concerning the war on terror, or as the Obama administration calls acts of terror, man-caused disasters.

Like Barney Fife, Obama and his administration is truly the gang that can't shoot straight.

The Washington Post is reporting that 5-term Senator Christopher J. Dodd (D-Conn) has decided not to seek re-election this fall. He is expected to make the announcement Wednesday.

Dodd, chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, used his position to obtain sweetheart mortgages from Countrywide Financial before the collapse of the mortgage industry. Because of the mortgage scandal and his support for the Democrat's health care bill he was having a very difficult time raising money and could see he was not going to be re-elected.

The announcement will be the second in two days with North Dakota Senator Byron Dorgan (D-ND) indicating on Tuesday that he would not run this fall.

Hopefully Senate majority leader, Harry Reid (D-NV), who trails in every poll against every potential candidate, will make his retirement announcement soon.

Then the task will be to replace them with truly conservative senators who will work to control spending and bring some fiscal common sense back to the Senate.
Unfortunately, our illustrious (read feckless) leader, Barack Hussein Obama, who is either too arrogant or too stupid to take lessons of the past from another famous American diplomat, Jimmy Carter, will not be happy until Israelis and/or Americans die at the hands of Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and those crazy mullah guys lead by Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei. You can read more about the NYT's article here.

As President Obama faces pressure to back up his year-end ultimatum for diplomatic progress with Iran, the administration says that domestic unrest and signs of unexpected trouble in Tehran’s nuclear program make its leaders particularly vulnerable to strong and immediate new sanctions.

As anyone who travels by airplane knows, the consequences for the flying public after the attempt by Richard Reid to blow up a plane with explosives in his shoe were that all passengers had to remove their shoes while going through airport security.

Now that terrorist Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab tried to blow up a plane with 80 grams of the explosive PETN in his underwear, it would seem that all passengers from here on out would have to remove their underwear while going through the rigorous screening process at our airports.

I have no doubt that as I write this, Janet Napolitano, the clueless head of Homeland Security who claimed on the Sunday talk show circuit following the foiled attempt to blow up Northwest flight 253 that the 'system worked,' is trying to decide if we should have to take off our underwear at airport security checkpoints before boarding a plane.

If they don't make us take off our underwear as we go through airport security from now on we should be able to keep our shoes on as well.

Otherwise, the removal of shoes at airports is nothing more than harassment of the traveling public.

Merry Christmas! Now bend over and grab your ankles, because you are about to have your 'turkey' stuffed in one of the largest redistribution of wealth schemes since Robin Hood and his band of merry men were stealing from King John and giving their ill-gotten gains to the ne'er-do-wells living in the English countryside.

Barack Hussein 'Robin Hood' Obama , Harry 'Little John' Reid, and Nancy 'Maid Marion' Pelosi and their merry 'Democratic' congressmen are, like their counterparts of English lore, little more than common thieves and liars, all the while claiming that they are going to steal from the 'rich' (people with income over $200,000) and give to the 'poor' (the 47 million people without health care) all for the common good. Never mind that the 'rich' went to school, took risks, worked hard and deserve their money, and most of the 47 million 'poor' don't need (18 to 30 year olds who aren't sick very often) or don't deserve (Americans who would rather sit on their uneducated derrieres all day collecting unemployment, doing drugs, and making out-of-wedlock babies or the illegal immigrants who should return to their own countries) the ill-gotten gains of this band of thieves.

Using bad mathematical assumptions, accounting schemes, sacred cows and bribes, Obama, Reid and Pelosi have made a stew that is unsavory and unsustainable in any of its current incarnations.

This gang of 'merry men' claim that they can take money from Medicare and give a like amount to the uninsured and end up with a surplus instead of a zero sum game. They claim that a program that is funded (by our tax dollars) for 10 years and pays out benefits for 6 years is deficit neutral. They have not addressed, in any way, tort reform, preferring to keep the trial lawyers as their sacred cow, and they would like to somehow include in this 'unholy' stew the mystery ingredients of funding for abortions and tax breaks for unions. Finally, they have had to bribe some of their henchmen (Ben Nelson, Mary Landrieu and Chris Dodd) to obtain their support for this pot of crap stew they are forcing upon the American taxpayers.

The quality of health care for those that need it most will ultimately suffer because of this bill. The elderly and infirmed will suffer more and die sooner because of reduced payments to care-givers, much longer waits for health care, and rationing because of 'death panels.' Socialist schemes such as this have one major flaw: they always run out of other people's money.

So Merry Christmas to you and yours!! Your 'turkey' has just been stuffed.

The Telegraph reported it here:

At over six feet tall, the US president was photographed bending to nearly a 90 degree angle when he greeted the relatively diminutive Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko at the Imperial Palace on Saturday.

I, quite frankly, believe that there is a little more going on here than the Telegraph was willing to report.

In all, more than one out of every six workers — 17.5 percent — were unemployed or underemployed in October.

The economic stimulus that the Obama administration is overseeing is obviously not working. If anything is going to help get us out of this economic meltdown, tax cuts and incentives for the private sector to hire new workers would seem to be the answer to the increasing number of unemployed workers. Unfortunately, I don't believe Obama has the vision to see beyond his never-ending quest for undeserved income redistribution.

With a go-along-to-get-along approach to politics, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has endorsed liberal Republican Dede Scozzafava in New York's 23rd congressional district over Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman in the upcoming special election. Unfortunately, Scozzafava is cut from the same cloth as Senators Arlen Spector, Olympia Snowe, Susan Colins, John McCain, and even former Senator Bob Dole. The aforementioned Senators, two of whom ran for President and lost by huge margins and one switched to the Democratic party, are shining examples of what is wrong with the Republican party. Unfortunately, they all might as well be in the Democratic party.

The Republican party needs to stand on conservative principles or it will become a footnote in American political history, just as the Whig party has become. It is time for conservative Republicans to stand up for ourselves and vote our principles.

Let the liberal Republicans play the any-way-the-wind-blows game. Conservatives need to quit voting for these wishy-washy politicians and vote for people with conservative values. America will get the message. When cap-and-trade results in huge increases in the cost of utilities and lost jobs, America will get the message. When Obama-care results in long lines, rationed care and huge tax increases, America will get the message.
