Hillary - Above It All

Politico, which received an advance copy of Hillary Clinton's new book, Hard Choices, quotes Hillary from the chapter titled Benghazi: Under Attack.

“I will not be a part of a political slugfest on the backs of dead Americans. It’s just plain wrong, and it’s unworthy of our great country. Those who insist on politicizing the tragedy will have to do so without me."

She went on to say,

“Those who exploit this tragedy over and over as a political tool minimize the sacrifice of those who served our country,”

The fact is that Ambassador John Christopher Stevens, who died in the early stages of the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, September 11–12, 2012, was the direct responsibility of the Secretary of State, who at the time was Hillary Clinton. Ms. Clinton had to know, and if she didn't know, should have known, that the consulate had been attacked twice in the months preceding the attack which began on September 11, 2012, and culminated in the early morning hours on September 12, 2012. Furthermore, Ms. Clinton either knew, or should have known, that virtually all other foreign diplomatic personnel had been removed from Libya after attacks on their embassies/consulates.

Ms. Clinton may not have been in charge of the three CIA operatives who also died in the Benghazi attack, but the death of Ambassador Stevens lies squarely on her.

While Ms.Clinton may not want to discuss this during her expected run for the Presidency, she cannot erase the fact that the proverbial '3 A.M. phone call' that she brougt up during her debates with HRH Obama went in to the State Department and she didn't pick up the phone. I understand that Ms. Clinton was not the commander-in-chief, but she should have been on the phone with HRH Obama demanding military support. No one in Benghazi, at the State Department, at the Department of Defense, or at the White House knew or could have known how long the attack was going to go on or how many American lives were in danger, yet no one ever gave the command to send help to the brave Americans fighting for their lives.

Silly me! I just remembered, HRH wasn't in the situation room at the White House and wasn't answering the phone at the White House either.

Must have been everyone's 'date night.'
